Unassuming Beauties

Aren’t we all
just unassuming creatures
deserving of a poem,
just as much as setting sun,
falcon’s flight,
or maple leaves upon a tree?
Is there surely not beauty and awe and wonder
in someone’s smile,
kind words in the hall,
or gift of generosity?
Aren’t we all deserving
of a few well-chosen words
placed upon the page,
of paint and brush strokes
drawn upon the canvas,
or sharpened image
on the screen?
Aren’t we all
just God’s unassuming beauties
going through our days?

  1. To see the world through loving eyes is the greatest gift of all. It gifts in both directions at once. Thank you Larry. You are a beautiful soul.

  2. This is so very true…everyone is of value and should be recognized in some way. A picture, a painting, a poem, a kind words ,a thank you.

  3. The pity is we must, first of all take the time, and secondly filter out so much chafe in order to recognize the inner beauty around us. Thanks for stretching the envelope for us Larry.
