Acknowledgement

We are but visitors
on your land,
travellers,
who have arrived
on the territory
of the Wolostoqey Nation.
We are called Ivri, Hebrews,
people from across the river Euphrates.
Our forebears
were wandering Arameans
and were enslaved four hundred years,
before God brought us out.
Three thousand years ago
we established a unified monarchy,
until,
we were exiled
from our ancestral home.
We settled here,
knowing that one day
we would return to our own land,
where now, in a modern state,
half our people dwell.
We seek peace and security
so we may live our lives,
prosper and grow,
and worship God, our creator.
We are but visitors on your land.
