A Valentine for New Brunswick

Oh, New Brunswick,
I love you.
You are a drive through province
and for that,
I love you all the more.
I say,
let them drive by
your voluptuous valleys,
forested hills with shapely curves,
and fertile waters.
I say,
let them drive by
your savory smells
of chicken fricot,
maple glazed salmon,
and fiddleheads.
I say,
let them drive by
your singular sounds
of Chiac,
Wolastoqey,
and Maritime English.
I say,
let them drive by
your sturdy towns
filled with people warm enough,
to take the chill off
the coldest day.
I say,
let them drive by.
Oh, New Brunswick,
I love you.

  1. I’m from Upper Canada and I’m in full support of this position. I have come to love this province in a way like no other. I have worked across Canada and into the US and when I got my final job here it felt as though I was home. To me my life had been a journey and New Brunswick was my reward. I bless every day for that “reward”
